About Me

Hello and thank you for taking the time to check out me and my work, it means a lot!

I'm a generalist game designer so I have a broad horizon when it comes to what roles I've experienced even in my short time of being a student. The quote, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one," is a great way to put it in a single sentence. I've found my broad breadth of skills allows me to pick up new tools quickly and fit into a new role much quicker so I can start working instead of having to learn all the ropes.

I started my journey as an Audio Programmer. With not many people brave enough to venture into Audio Programming, I was sought after many years in a row on student projects due to my familiarity with FMOD or Wwise. While working on the back end was interesting, I was cooking up a few solo projects on the side so I could experience the design side of games as well. These projects ranged from mechanic to puzzle to level design and I found that I loved every second of it. Creating something and then sharing it with your peers or your parents is an amazing experience, even if it's a 2 hour playtest for one level.

Throughout all my team projects I got to work with just about every discipline ranging from Game Designers, Audio Designers, Artists, full Back-End Programmers, and more Front-End Gameplay Programmers. Working in teams has improved my leadership and mentoring skills as I've found that teaching someone else helps you understand that thing or concept better and there is never a downside to sharing knowledge. On teams, having a multidisciplinary background has helped me find the bigger picture where I can help delegate tasks and parts of the whole so they will mesh nicely when everyone finishes their part of the work.

I love learning new things, and making games for others to discover and enjoy. I hope to add to the creative voices of professional game designers of the world in the future.
